Ameda Breast Pumps are well-known for quality at a reasonable price. They offer one manual breast, one personal use double electric breast pump, and two hospital-grade breast pumps. Let’s take a closer look, and find out what’s so special about the Ameda Breast Pumps.
Ameda Breast Pumps
Ameda One-Hand Manual Breast Pump
First, we have the Ameda One-Hand Manual Breast Pump, designed to be easy to use, lightweight, and compact. It fits easily into your purse or tote. It can be used one-handed, hence the name, and it provides multi-phase pumping, which means that you can control the phase by the varying degrees at which you squeeze the handle. This manual Ameda Breast Pump is unique. It doesn’t offer a lever like most manual breast pumps so that you won’t get a tired thumb. You use your whole hand, which I think gives you more control. This manual Ameda Breast Pump earned the High Design-Innovation Quality Award in Germany for its ergonomic design. It comes with one 25mm breast flange right out of the box; however, you do have the option of purchasing six other breast flange sizes for your custom fit. It also comes with one 4 oz bottle and a 2-piece lock-tight lid.
Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump
Then there’s the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump, which was previously Ameda’s personal use double electric breast pump until they discontinued it. I include it here due to its unwavering popularity! This item can still be found as a used item on eBay (here), Poshmark (here), and GoodBuy Gear (click below for an exclusive $25 coupon).

This Ameda Breast Pump is perfect for working moms, and it’s the most popular breast pump in Ameda’s line. It offers complete customizable control. In other words, you get two dials, one for suction and one for speed. This gives you a total of 32 different combinations, which means more options for comfort. This Ameda Breast Pump also offers proven airlock protection, which means that it has a unique diaphragm barrier that keeps air from coming in contact with your milk. Plus, it also prevents backflow into the tubing, which means not only do you not have to worry about milk in the motor, but you won’t have to clean tubing either. This Ameda Breast Pump also offers Ameda’s custom-fit flange system. In other words, they offer a total of 7 different-sized breast flanges that will allow you to find your perfect fit. In addition, it also offers 3 power sources, the AC adapter, 6 AA batteries, and a car adapter.
The Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump is offered in 4 variations. You can buy just the pump, the pump w/Carry All, the Ameda Purely Yours Ultra with tote, or the pump with a backpack. The actual breast pump is the same in all four variations. The only difference is what extra’s are included. For instance, if you buy the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump (just the pump), you get the pump, the dual milk collection system which comes with all the parts you need, including the two 25 mm breast flanges and an AC power adapter. That is the minimum.
Now, if you opt for, say, the Ameda Purely Yours Ultra Breast Pump, you get the pump with the dual milk collection system and 25 mm breast flanges, plus you also get two extra 30.5 mm flanges and two extra 28.5 mm flanges. This allows you to find your custom fit without having to purchase the additional flange sizes separately. This Ameda Breast Pump also comes with a Cool N’ Carry bag with three cooling elements that will keep your breast milk fresh, milk storage guidelines, and the AC power adapter. You also get an adapter that will allow you to use this pump as a manual breast pump and (6) 4oz bottles with lock-tight lids. That’s a lot of extras.
Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump w/Backpack
The Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump with Backpack doesn’t offer extra flange sizes, but it comes with the Cool N’ Carry bag and three cooling elements. It also provides the hand pump adapter, six bottles with lids, and a convenient microfiber backpack. This Ameda Breast Pump also comes with a car adapter, making it the most convenient breast pump to use on the go.
Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump w/Carry All
The Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump with Carry-All comes with the Cool N’ Carry bag and the six 4oz bottles with lids. It offers pretty much everything that the backpack version offers, except it doesn’t offer the car adapter or the hand pump adapter, and it comes with a microfiber shoulder bag instead. This Ameda Breast Pump is probably the most popular version out of all four. It’s perhaps because it’s the least expensive, other than just the pump.
Ameda Breast Pumps – Hospital Grade
Ameda Elite @ Amazon for $899.94
The only other Ameda Breast Pumps offered are hospital-grade breast pumps. There are two, the Ameda Elite Hospital Breast Pump and the Ameda Platinum Hospital Breast Pump. These two Ameda Breast Pumps are multi-user friendly. The Ameda Elite Electric Breast Pump is used quite frequently in Hospitals, Maternity Wards and can be found at most Medical Supply Stores as a rental. It is microprocessor controlled, which pretty much means that it’s durable and super strong. Like the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump, the Ameda Elite offers custom control and proven airlock protection. Now, because it is multi-user friendly, you have to purchase the Ameda Hygien Kit Milk Collection System to use it.
Ameda Platinum @ Amazon for $2149.99
The Ameda Platinum Hospital Breast Pump is the newest addition to the Ameda Breast Pump line. Let me just say, this hospital-grade breast pump is pretty hi-tech. It comes equipped with an LCD screen with a pump timer that allows you to see exactly where you’re at during your pumping session. It also offers custom control, with two separate soft-touch buttons for vacuum and cycle. What makes this Ameda Breast Pump so special is the VacuSense Technology. This Ameda Breast Pump will provide consistent suction during both double and single pumping.
